An Amazing Stretch

The aerial sling is a supportive and sometimes challenging tool to explore old and familiar postures, as well as learn some new poses.

Aerial yoga is for everyone and can always be modified to your level. The peace that comes at the end of class while laying in the fabrics is next level shavasana.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact me at ally@allymagee.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Aerial yoga is a great way to add to your yoga routine! It uses fabrics hung low to aid in yoga practice. The aerial sling/fabric is a supportive and sometimes challenging tool to explore familiar traditional postures, as well as learn some new poses!

Aerial yoga is for everyone who would like to try it and can always be modified to your level. I've had students from 6-86 years old!

You do not need to go upside down if you wish. Fabrics will move, but will not spin if you do not want them to!

Is it more challenging? To be completely honest, it's difficult to say! The fabric utilized in aerial yoga offers substantial support, making numerous movements and poses more manageable. As you advance, you will gradually depend less on the sling for support and instead view it as an extension of your body. Think of the fabric as another tool to deepen poses, as well as make some poses more accessible.

The following are conditions that may not be suitable for aerial yoga. Please check with your doctor before engaging in aerial yoga if you have any of the following:

  • Pregnant women (note, there are modifications + special classes you can attend)
  • People with heart conditions.
  • People with vertigo or dizziness.
  • People with spinal issues.
  • People with glaucoma.
  • Individuals with recent injuries or surgeries.
  • People with severe arthritis.
  • Those with respiratory issues.

Considering that poses can be modified to adapt to individual needs, aerial yoga provides a safe but effective means for anyone of any age to remain active, regardless of their ability or fitness levels.

Not at all! Aerial is a GREAT way to work on both flexibility AND strength. Classes are tailored to your needs, and modifications are offered.
